Founded in 2014, the Contemporary Private Law Research Network (RDCC) is an organization of university research groups that brings together national and international institutions in order to promote studies, events and publications, as well as legal and scholarly research in private law. RDCC members participate in research groups accredited with the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). Research groups are based in the University of São Paulo (USP), the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), the Federal University of Parana (UFPR), the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Fluminense Federal University (UFF, the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT), Humboldt University (Berlin, Germany), the University of Coimbra (UC – Portugal), University of Lisbon (UNL – Portugal), the University of Porto (UP – Portugal) and the University of Girona (UG – Spain). Researchers from Brazil, Portugal, Spain and Germany participate in the RDCC, which is fully committed to internationalization and pluralism of ideas.

The image of the London Library damaged by a bomb raid during World War II provides a beautiful metaphor for the Contemporary Private Law Research Network and one of its first publications, the Journal of Contemporary Private Law (RDCC). In this time of dogmatic crisis and mediocre legal scholarship, the picture of readers wading through library debris in search of culture reinforces the belief that striving for contemporary private law to address modern concerns without abandoning its foundations is still a worthy endeavor.

In addition to the Journal of Contemporary Private Law, which is readily available on this page, the Private Law Today (Direito Civil Atualcolumn (http://www.conjur.com.br/secoes/colunas/direito-civil-atual) in the Legal Consultant (Consultor Jurídico) electronic magazine was inaugurated in 2 February 2015. The column features legal commentary by RDCC members and contributors.

This page also features other publications by RDCC members and contributors, as well as information regarding events hosted by the RDCC.
